Mimic CBM for Queen Mary 2 Print E-mail

James Fisher Mimic are pleased to announce the recent Condition Monitoring installation for the Cunard, part of the Carnival Group, liner Queen Mary 2 (QM2). This installation is the 10th vessel, and completes the entire UK fleet for Mimic.

Cunard’s ship, Queen Mary 2 is the defining luxury ocean liner for the 21st century in every possible aspect. Entered service in January 2004, she combines over 165 years of tradition with modern innovations hardly dreamed of only a few years ago.

Those modern innovations now included the Mimic Condition Monitoring (CM) System. The recent successful installations and implementation of the integrated Mimic CM Software System and AMOS Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) throughout the fleet of Carnival UK’s vessels has provided Carnival UK with the satisfaction and knowledge that an integrated Condition Based Monitoring approach to maintenance has been the correct decision.

“Carnival UK have recognised this success and as a result JFM were proud to be involved with the installation of this unique development to their latest and worlds biggest cruise vessel, Queen Mary 2.” Says Shaun Rowe, Business Development Manager of JF Mimic.

The installation included Mimic’s integration in AMOS and an advanced Vibration monitoring module. Up to 90 assets onboard are currently being monitored with the Mimic system. James Fisher Mimic also provide monthly analysis reports by skilled and experienced analysts that describe specified machine conditions back to the superintendents and chief engineers for all Carnival UK vessels.
