JF Mimic announce a pilot trial of their new Class Survey reports in association with Lloyd’s Register, Carnival UK, and SpecTec. The report promises to substantially increase the efficiency of surveys and the flow of information between the parties involved with the surveys. Generated from within their Mimic Condition Monitoring software, the report will combine condition monitoring and vibration data together with vital information from the AMOS M&P and present it in electronic or hardcopy versions to a visiting Class Surveyor. Created in conjunction with Lloyds Register, this report will allow ship operators to present machinery information required for class survey in a simple, quick and cost effective manner. The report will form part of James Fisher’s Mimic suite of Condition Monitoring software tools and products that are helping many ship owners to control the cost of their maintenance during these difficult times. The demand for implementing a strategic CBM strategy is on the increase and James Fisher continues to develop and customise their software in an ever changing maritime environment and is the only condition monitoring software to have attained Lloyds Register accreditation. Essentially, this is all about taking existing data from systems that are already in place, and delivering the data to the right person – and in a format which will support the vital function of the surveyor. A pilot trial is due to commence soon – where the pilot project team includes: Carnival UK, Lloyds Register, JF Mimic and SpecTec. A positive result could have wide-reaching implications and may set new standards – in terms of more efficient and cost-effective surveys. Martin Briddon MBE from James Fisher Mimic, the specialising provider of reliability engineering and condition monitoring services and part of the James Fisher Group, will introduce and launch the ‘Mimic Shipping Classification Report’ at the Lloyds List ‘Condition Monitoring in Shipping’ conference. |
